July 26, 2026 is the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act signed into law in 1990. Many people still do not know what to say to a person with a disability, e.g. "You look fine to me," "You're getting better aren't you?" (Most people with a disability live with it their entire life." "I get tired, too" (They either try to identify with or dismiss the struggles a person has.) Rather, listen, ask what help the person needs, be friends with people with disabilities.
