We walked around a small late here in Mason City and saw their work. It was warm and seventy degrees. You can see the beavers' new work by the fresh chips at the base of the one tree. But perhaps they too do not know if is it Winter or Spring. This morning it is 6 degrees with snow on the ground. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVU6Ht2DPu1J-_p_DsaM5yYObhg82Tki0-W88o3knEztQsNPvPNyn1cQrQVA-EXPi9j2ZyDEn1x816jkpXGBx8_FqI-hzt3q_uzBdUDnRY0g2K-fZSsfMA8C3qJmHvjBi3EkfusiY6NYeuHIGn_EjrvtEilYVdjJFSkYv42ehmwe_oC7-sSs4svtXgoZ2C" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="769" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVU6Ht2DPu1J-_p_DsaM5yYObhg82Tki0-W88o3knEztQsNPvPNyn1cQrQVA-EXPi9j2ZyDEn1x816jkpXGBx8_FqI-hzt3q_uzBdUDnRY0g2K-fZSsfMA8C3qJmHvjBi3EkfusiY6NYeuHIGn_EjrvtEilYVdjJFSkYv42ehmwe_oC7-sSs4svtXgoZ2C" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg8FDN2pk2xG39MbXHS0D-HmLOrTJ3XNjG5oUZqemP71kUpHjmN9IkPSjPfCGAgLMXfLWGVkrVOlFR3mIqoqhXUOJlJ4jPsZDirHxo68n4tF6RfX-3LS5kjDIpLudGOXWWjRcQLN1cNw-1vM_hUqLxyEgn2092k1bwCNcnkwwKeBtTERa7RBkiPBFjRl-ch" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="769" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg8FDN2pk2xG39MbXHS0D-HmLOrTJ3XNjG5oUZqemP71kUpHjmN9IkPSjPfCGAgLMXfLWGVkrVOlFR3mIqoqhXUOJlJ4jPsZDirHxo68n4tF6RfX-3LS5kjDIpLudGOXWWjRcQLN1cNw-1vM_hUqLxyEgn2092k1bwCNcnkwwKeBtTERa7RBkiPBFjRl-ch" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049018213559656453.post-37087183524012175572024-02-28T08:27:00.002-06:002024-02-28T08:27:37.946-06:00Sunset<p> So many beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Proud of him. Joel directed for 30 years and is now director of choral activities for North Iowa Area Community College. Joel's wife Rachel played for many solos, ensembles and choir at this year's "Follies" as she has for decades. She also arranges much of the music. This year, while Jackson in high school, she plays at MCHS and at the Community College while also gives piano lessons there. We are thankful for all their gifts. In the midst of winter I have flowers from all seasons blooming at the same time in our apartment. Day 5 is the final post. I purchased this orchid three years ago for my husband's early February birthday. After it bloomed, I simply kept it watered and surprisingly it blooms again each year. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh5emFA368d7OaxEsnq083aRaUKKbigIajoZ1VwvSLino2qqLkHJRXnmkEKWIy5VtpMH9rhyHNBAB0jOgKVHsldaJydcGCqa9C1CGFUUlEcCS1aSXStzjOVZEjfGWz6K4z_WaajPFiZWXU_-b8vn__PEhDuy3Sncowu9-Ydxxk5sMPKfRvdd-MLUsnwe3WM" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh5emFA368d7OaxEsnq083aRaUKKbigIajoZ1VwvSLino2qqLkHJRXnmkEKWIy5VtpMH9rhyHNBAB0jOgKVHsldaJydcGCqa9C1CGFUUlEcCS1aSXStzjOVZEjfGWz6K4z_WaajPFiZWXU_-b8vn__PEhDuy3Sncowu9-Ydxxk5sMPKfRvdd-MLUsnwe3WM" width="180" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049018213559656453.post-41662229603864192242024-01-31T05:47:00.002-06:002024-01-31T05:49:20.205-06:00Day 4 Rose<p>Day 4 Rose! Strange coincidence? Perhaps. But for me, the insurrection is a terrible reminder of the capacity of human beings to hate and harm one another and to follow those who think think they are gods. The Light of the star which guided the wise men to see that baby Jesus and the warning that they should flee to Egypt reminds me that God is always with the refugee and Christ is indeed the Light of the World.</p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049018213559656453.post-72718115711162703132024-01-02T06:37:00.002-06:002024-01-02T06:37:27.014-06:00Two girls<p> Our son Mark has two daughters, Aimee, 14, and newborn Luna</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjORPCRjXXt7eDNrxQ7jzneOimt3FYt3MAcP4KSSW37CPSGjvl3jqb5TebGzRPWCzROifkfi_mVBgLviGnHzZvaEVNGI1XMw8qYbVIvAIs-sj-tj4OcGntEoZevm4nCVfw6eXoUA4LM4TZGqA7llBhlFzrZ-NDvRZqdVJ5K-ygipN8uLNemXW4OHER14leV" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1599" data-original-width="900" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjORPCRjXXt7eDNrxQ7jzneOimt3FYt3MAcP4KSSW37CPSGjvl3jqb5TebGzRPWCzROifkfi_mVBgLviGnHzZvaEVNGI1XMw8qYbVIvAIs-sj-tj4OcGntEoZevm4nCVfw6eXoUA4LM4TZGqA7llBhlFzrZ-NDvRZqdVJ5K-ygipN8uLNemXW4OHER14leV" width="135" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049018213559656453.post-44625820394275979862024-01-01T11:01:00.003-06:002024-01-01T11:01:59.391-06:00<p> Watching the 2024 Rose Bowl Parade in our Pasadena City College hats from 2001 when we watched the parade with our friend Edie Hovey from the college's section. Mark and Aimee joined the gathering by phone from Phoenix. We here in Mason City play "Fictionary" with a set of 1890's dictionaries. Kirk joined in the game from Texas. Burton laughed so hard he was crying.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjNhoWq9VmwVPNlKtfmAxhWLvmAbutwK4CGoq84zj3UadWcu7s9BMKPtQGu8jB8neXArkptNJiNGKjHy6owJ73MAJ8EmMh-B93YtJHl_blQacf1U69yCGi4aTuiiZk000ygGJqvBmRd0gHNjZq0KFPzM-KxkrwmdOax4QwpYkgRY-7Mwzyz1ZUtCWP4JMd7" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjNhoWq9VmwVPNlKtfmAxhWLvmAbutwK4CGoq84zj3UadWcu7s9BMKPtQGu8jB8neXArkptNJiNGKjHy6owJ73MAJ8EmMh-B93YtJHl_blQacf1U69yCGi4aTuiiZk000ygGJqvBmRd0gHNjZq0KFPzM-KxkrwmdOax4QwpYkgRY-7Mwzyz1ZUtCWP4JMd7" width="180" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhH6s0R0uogFJvq6tUtF32gAJqRBQXnT_Pi2pOB5Sgy4LFvaNR3Goo0RGaCnhGPjMU9r1Yxa_O1V9jFEGAI5kOLD11SnRHfJvEz-PwjtYQ_VjEGHY3wPf9Ezc5vnM4frL9qJaZRQZAeu9W08_zcVQmI1RnsyM4vVP0qEJjG49VH7tCM1T6nNaFfzmFf9H8Z" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhH6s0R0uogFJvq6tUtF32gAJqRBQXnT_Pi2pOB5Sgy4LFvaNR3Goo0RGaCnhGPjMU9r1Yxa_O1V9jFEGAI5kOLD11SnRHfJvEz-PwjtYQ_VjEGHY3wPf9Ezc5vnM4frL9qJaZRQZAeu9W08_zcVQmI1RnsyM4vVP0qEJjG49VH7tCM1T6nNaFfzmFf9H8Z" width="180" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049018213559656453.post-55451532774312731232023-11-10T15:51:00.003-06:002023-11-10T15:56:32.741-06:00No. 9, 10, 11<p> November 9, l0, ll. </p><p>Kristallnacht 1938. However, on my birthday yesterday, Nov. 6, the grass was still green and the temperature high enough for me to sit on our deck. I give thanks for the sun, for my sons, and for my husband. Joel even brought over a small cake and mini-pie with birthday candles that don't go out. I laughed and laughed and laughed and they kept relighting themselves. And I received in the mail my "little red book," date book for 2024. Good sign I may live another year.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjwCViUDkk3fZmMddwkN7dX5WnoPCybSRKF5_yCUIbaCxzL9Jx7jABs2hQzxu6CeEtUoI-y2GB-0hOrMaC__Dg3xRSX6P8JFqxYxr0BaJ9vjh-RjZFmvr0HUlNqoSIJcxt0ZdYMemajQXXcrgIR9u_AYuySQm3AhH6Ji3KK0MZIALMQqKkzHtHKnd-PM3pJ" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1182" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjwCViUDkk3fZmMddwkN7dX5WnoPCybSRKF5_yCUIbaCxzL9Jx7jABs2hQzxu6CeEtUoI-y2GB-0hOrMaC__Dg3xRSX6P8JFqxYxr0BaJ9vjh-RjZFmvr0HUlNqoSIJcxt0ZdYMemajQXXcrgIR9u_AYuySQm3AhH6Ji3KK0MZIALMQqKkzHtHKnd-PM3pJ" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjiGheUcINbsH8wY3umtfYrKP2K1ihZO7KdlhxQLwxJn1TF-CqEuHTl_x-x2UFkq8nImrh4bueWJEGdXqCmiCicUYBan6FuXXpsyvyye2-Fe6F8tnw31sRfqv4Bbhj70Y9d_pGHzH-unLxsCuBzba7PMpzAMFCyhrEc2mvg_eHl8cGcYSW0ksTJ6EYgWbj_" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjiGheUcINbsH8wY3umtfYrKP2K1ihZO7KdlhxQLwxJn1TF-CqEuHTl_x-x2UFkq8nImrh4bueWJEGdXqCmiCicUYBan6FuXXpsyvyye2-Fe6F8tnw31sRfqv4Bbhj70Y9d_pGHzH-unLxsCuBzba7PMpzAMFCyhrEc2mvg_eHl8cGcYSW0ksTJ6EYgWbj_" width="180" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p>Norma Cook Everisthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08265711155902461760noreply@blogger.com0
