On this bitterly below-zero Sunday, I wondered if there would be more than a handful of people in church. But the church was packed! The sermon began with, "How are you doing with the news?" People, of differing political news wanted to worship in solidarity with the people of Minnesota. There was a baptism. Twenty-eight children came to the front for the children's time. The pastor spoke about his sister and nephew living just two blocks from yesterday's murder in Minneapolis. The Gospel was about the killing of John the Baptist and the calling of the disciples. In the midst of bad news, we, like the disciples have a calling. What is our calling now?
